No two businesses arrive here for the same reason.
Sometimes the website is not doing enough. Sometimes growth has
created more work, more systems and more loose ends than anyone
expected. Sometimes the team is spending hours on things that
should be simple by now.
And sometimes there is no neat diagnosis at all — just that
persistent thought: “I know this could be better.”
That is enough for us to begin.
Most businesses do not need one dramatic idea. They need clearer thinking, better questions and practical improvements that actually get implemented.
A few thoughtful ways to begin.
These are not off-the-shelf packages designed to squeeze every business through the same process. They are clear ways to begin, shaped around the problem in front of us rather than everything that could possibly be added to a proposal.
Businesses often ask for the solution before anyone has properly defined the problem.
They ask for a new website, better SEO, AI, marketing or more enquiries.
But after twenty minutes of honest conversation, the real issue is often somewhere else entirely.
That is why I begin with the business — not the service I could sell it.
The Foundry Review™
This starts with questions — usually more than you were expecting.
I look at your website, your customer journey, the way people experience the business and the small details that quietly shape confidence, trust and buying decisions.
I look for what is already working, what is getting in the way and what the people closest to the business may simply have stopped noticing.
This is not a fault-finding exercise or a hundred-page report nobody uses.
You finish with something far more useful: a clearer picture, sensible priorities and a practical route forward.
Sometimes the most valuable thing I can do is spot the detail everyone inside the business has become used to.
Strategy Session
This is for the challenge that keeps following you around.
The decision you keep delaying. The idea you cannot quite shape. The problem that seems to get more complicated every time you return to it.
There is no unnecessary presentation and no attempt to turn a straightforward issue into a six-month project.
Just an honest, focused conversation, practical challenge and the space to look at the situation from a different angle.
Not every problem needs another proposal. Sometimes the most useful outcome is finally being able to think clearly and make the decision.
Website Experience Review
Most business owners know their website too well. They know where everything is, what every product does and what each sentence is meant to mean. Customers do not.
I work through the website as a customer would: every click, every hesitation, every unanswered question and every point where confidence either builds or disappears.
The problem may be navigation, wording, pricing, imagery, missing information or a buying journey that asks the customer to do far too much of the work.
My job is not to redesign the site for the sake of it. It is to understand how people experience it, identify what is weakening trust and show you what will make the journey clearer.
Customers rarely email to explain why they abandoned a website. They simply leave. The clues are often there long before the analytics tell the full story.
Foundry Partnership
Some businesses do not need another agency, another retainer or another layer of account management.
They need someone who understands commercial decisions, notices opportunities, asks the awkward question when it needs asking and cares about whether the work makes a difference.
Someone who contributes to the thinking rather than waiting for a perfectly written instruction list.
The Foundry Partnership gives you ongoing commercial support, fresh perspective and practical input across the work that matters — without trying to become an agency you do not need.
The best partnerships reach the point where someone can ask, “Why do we still do it like that?” — and everyone is willing to look honestly at the answer.
You do not have to choose a commercial growth package alone.
Most people do not. They simply know something is taking too long, underperforming or creating more frustration than it should. That is more than enough for a first conversation.
Simple to begin. Thoughtful from the start.
You do not need a complicated brief or weeks of preparation. We start with an honest conversation, then identify which commercial growth package — if any — is the right place to begin.
Tell me what's happening
What is frustrating you? What keeps being pushed back? What is taking more time, effort or explanation than it should?
We look beneath it
We look beneath the obvious symptom and work out what is actually creating the problem before anyone starts prescribing fixes.
I recommend the right commercial growth package
I will recommend the most useful place to begin. If one of these commercial growth packages fits, I will say so. If it does not, I will say that too.
Then we get to work
No theatre and no unnecessary complexity. Just practical work, clear priorities and steady commercial improvement.
A few things you may be wondering.
The work is tailored, but the way we begin should always feel straightforward, honest and easy to understand.
How do I know which option I need?
You don't need to decide before getting in touch. Tell me what is happening, what feels frustrating and what you would like to improve. I will recommend the most useful place to begin rather than expecting you to choose from a list.
What happens if I only need one conversation?
Then one conversation may be exactly the right answer. I would much rather help you gain clarity in a single session than turn a straightforward challenge into a larger project you do not need.
Do you help with implementation too?
Yes, where the work is a good fit. Some clients need clarity and direction, while others want support turning the ideas into practical changes. We will agree what is included before any work begins.
Do you only work with ecommerce businesses?
No. Foundry works with product-led, service-led and digital businesses. My deepest hands-on experience is in eCommerce, WordPress, WooCommerce, sales, SEO, customer experience and commercially complex owner-managed businesses, but the principles apply much more widely.
Can you work with our existing team?
Absolutely. I can work alongside sales, marketing, eCommerce, customer service, operations and development teams. The aim is not to replace the people who know your business. It is to give them another experienced perspective and help good ideas move forward.
Are your prices fixed?
Strategy Sessions can be priced clearly in advance. Reviews and partnerships depend on the scope and complexity involved, so you will always receive a clear proposal and fee before deciding whether to proceed.
What if you don't think you're the right person to help?
I will tell you. I have no interest in stretching a project to make it fit something I sell. If Foundry is not the right answer, you will know that from the beginning.
The thing you ask for first may not be the thing holding you back.
A business may arrive asking for SEO.
Then we discover customers cannot understand what the business sells.
Another may ask about automation.
Then we discover nobody has properly mapped the process they are trying to automate.
Someone else may think they need more enquiries, when the bigger opportunity is improving what happens to the enquiries already coming in.
The value is not always in arriving with the answer. Sometimes it is in finally identifying the question the business should have been asking all along.
Which commercial growth package would make the biggest difference?
Tell me what is frustrating you, what keeps being pushed down the
list or where you have that persistent feeling that the business
should be working better than it is.
You do not need to choose the right service first. We can work out
the right starting point together.
